This page is to give you an insight as to what exactly is a mobile home.
In Spain they are fast becoming a real alternative to bricks and mortar.
Mobile homes or Park homes have come a
long way over the last few years. They look and feel like small bungalows now
with pitched roofs, double glazing and central heating. Long gone is the caravan
image that is still to be found near many sea side resorts in the UK.
Here in Spain residential mobile home parks are quite a new idea and the climate
is just perfect for them. Many owners fit air-conditioning, erect decking around
the home as well as patios and sheds and happily live in them all year round.
Indeed, being fully furnished to very high standards means that little has to be
shipped over from the UK
All the homes here in Spain are fully connected to all the main services such as
electricity, water, satellite and telephone just as a brick built bungalow would
be.

Today's modern mobile homes have all the
mod cons as standard. All are at least 2 bedrooms and most have a sofa bed in
the lounge making the home a 3 bedroom house when needed.
So, the caravan image is gone so what exactly are they like. Furnishings vary
with each make and model but nearly all have dining areas, 3 piece suites,
fitted kitchens, fitted wardrobes and a look and feel inside exactly like a
brick built house should have. All the English made models are fully carpeted
with matching curtains and bedding. Many homes also have patio doors or French
doors which makes the decking designs very different from home to home. The
residential parks where the homes are sited these days in Spain allow for
substantial plots for each home adding to the look and feel factor that makes
living in a mobile home so attractive.
The down size is of course space. Most homes are 38 foot long by 12 foot wide
which is perfect for living in, the decking can also be a further 40 square
meters which in Spain is also regarded as living space as you are able to enjoy
a lot of time relaxing in the shade or sitting under the stars at night. The
sheds are normally 6 feet by 8 feet and that is where the problem is because the
shed soon fills up with washing machines and sun lounges for example, however
many residents solve this problem by building storage areas below the decking
which of course is a perfect answer to the only problem.
To conclude, the mobile homes of today are not exactly mobile once all the
services are connected and the decking built but they are defiantly homes.
